About Olivia
Olivia (she/her) is a theatre artist currently based in London who is dedicated to creating thought-provoking performances that inspire dialogue and spark social change within communities. She is a Master’s student at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where she is working on a degree in Applied Theatre. In May 2023, she graduated with her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Portland, where she majored in Theatre Performance and Psychology, while also obtaining a minor in Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies.
As a theatre practitioner, Olivia is creatively activated by material that leaves her with questions, and that pushes her to think in new ways. She is fascinated at the myriad of ways that theatre can be applied to other fields of study, especially finding interest in the crossover between theatre and psychology, and the ways in which theatre can be used as a healing tool on personal, social, and global levels.
Olivia is an avid learner and curious spirit. Her educational career has led her down a path of research-based and applied theatre, culminating in her senior capstone directorial project, entitled BENDS, a devised ensemble piece that attempts to explore different sensations associated with mental health and wellness, embarking on a sensory voyage through bodily and cerebral mental health symptoms. BENDS was developed using a framework of verbatim interview transcripts, in which college-aged participants shared how mental health and wellness manifests in their own lives, and the impacts of such encounters.
Olivia’s additional directing credits include work with the University’s “Theatre Club on Campus” in The Guest: A New Zoom Play and a Climate Change Theatre event showcasing scenes with diverse portrayals of climate change dangers.
Her favorite acting roles include “Agatha” in The Moors, “Somebody” in Everybody, and “Melantho/Maid” in The Penelopiad.
